Discover the winter world in snowshoes as a beginner or seasoned hiker. Take time out from everyday life and get to know the Pfundser Tschey. Or watch the fallow deer and mouflon in comfort at the wildlife park, Wildtiergehege Feichti am Kobl. Sound amazing? Then you should take part in one of the weekly winter-themed hikes:
Good to know: Appropriate equipment is required for all hikes. Hiking in boots with warm clothing, snacks and drinks is also much more fun!

Guided winter hiking program
In the middle of the icy and deep black winter night you will experience special celestial events such as shooting star nights, super moons, etc., wrapped warmly in cuddly sheepskins... up close. In front of the crackling campfire we let the impressive starry world around the Milky Way take effect on us. The untouched high valley Pfundser Tschey is far away from brightly lit cities and light sources and is therefore ideal to marvel at the thousands of sparkling constellations under expert guidance.
Through clear winter air to a cosy mountain hut
On the winter hike with Michaela to the Gogles Alm you can enjoy magnificent views down into the Inn Valley and can enjoy the winter nature park region to the full. After a challenging hike a stopover on the alpine pasture is of course part of it. "Tobogganing fun" is the order of the day, with a toboggan it goes afterwards directly from the hut back down into the valley.
Snowshoe hike with basic avalanche course
With snowshoes it goes through the wild romantic high valley Pfundser Tschey. The fresh winter air and the magnificent mountain scenery promise a great vacation experience! During the hike, hiking guide Michaela explains the basics of avalanche awareness "Safety on the mountain".
Through the winter forest to the panoramic view - Hiking & Animal Experiences
Fresh air, a leisurely pace and animal fun are the ingredients for the perfect family hike to fallow deer and mouflon on the Kobl, high above pounds. The well developed path is also easy for children's feet. As an incentive and reward, the impressive animal enclosure awaits you at your destination, with a wonderful view over Pfunds. Impressive wild animals that inhabit the deep forest can be observed, stroked and fed at close range. The child-friendly hiking experience through the mystical winter nature stimulates the imagination. Amidst the impressions of the mountain, forest and the animal companions, exciting stories can be told and magical hiding places and secrets can be discovered. Winter and snowshoe hikes on your own
The wonderful hiking destinations in the untouched nature are also easy to reach on your own. No matter if you are looking for a simple family hike or a sporty alternative to skiing, you will always find the right hike in the Tyrolean Oberland. The best prepared and signposted paths lead to the most beautiful corners.
Give your legs a break! The Winterhiking-Bus goes every Wednesday to the Kaunergrat Nature Park, every Thursday to the Tschey and every Friday to the Kobl. The costs amount to € 10,- per person. Further information is available at the information offices or from your landlord. There you can also register for the rides.

Winter hikers can hire a valuable rucksack at the tourist information office for € 5,00 per day. The perfect companion on a hike through the snowy winter countryside!

Accommodation for winter hikers in Pfunds
It’s no secret that people from near and far are attracted to the Tyrolean Oberland for its winter hikes. That’s why some places to stay specialise in the needs of winter hikers. As well as practical information, you’ll also find the current weather forecast and avalanche warning and a hiking rucksack in the guesthouses geared up for winter hikers. The following criteria must be fulfilled for this:
- 1 winter hiking backpack is available in the house
- Information material for winter hiking is on
- Weather & avalanche report is hung every day
- Information on snowshoe or equipment rental is available
- At breakfast there is the possibility for a marching tea (for a fee) or in the apartments there is a kettle
REstaurants for a hiking stop
Here you will find tips for a stop-off after a strenuous winter hike or an easy walk. Some are outside ofour villages, but can easily be hiked over roads.
Please note that only the pink signs are valid! The yellow signs only apply in summer. Maintenance of winter hiking trails is regular. The tourist office will give you more information about the current state of the winter hiking trails.
