The small holiday resort played a fundamental role in the 15th century above all in ore production in the region, when silver, galena and barite were mined here. Even today, you can get an idea of what went on with a visit to the Platzertal mine, which is, by the way, one of the highest located mines in Europe.

  • The parish church in Tösens:The unpretentious, baroque-style church is dedicated to Saint Lawrence of Rome and is worth a visit just for its pretty vault paintings.
  • The Roman bridge:Straddling a small gorge, it is presumed to be the oldest preserved bridge in Tyrol and was built in the Middle Ages.
  • The chapel St. Georg ob Tösens:Above Tösens, visitors are greeted by the little Gothic church from the 15th century, which is completely painted on the inside.
