BIBI’S HYDROPOWER
Discovering hydropower through play. Welcome to the hydropower-themed playground at Lake Ried! Here, everything revolves around the fascinating power of water. Bibi and her friend Bibirella invite explorers of all ages to experience the element of water through play—with rushing, bubbling, and splashing sounds at every turn. The adventure area also tells a bit of history: the power of the Fendler Bach stream was harnessed here long ago. Ried was once one of the most important sites for hydropower utilization in the Tyrolean Oberland region; mills, a hammer mill, and a carding workshop all relied on water power for their operations. Situated right by Lake Ried, a visit here combines perfectly with a day of swimming or an excursion. The lakeside restaurant and a snack bar are located close by. Free parking is available below the Fendels cable car station.
