Kaltenbrunn Pilgrimage Route
This extensive and varied circular route offers a choice of different options (e.g. Kauner Weiher or the Falkaunsalm) and can be started from three main points (Kauns, Kaunerberg and Kaunertal). There are also various places to stop for refreshments along the route. The main starting point is by the chapel in the hamlet of Nufels in the Kaunertal valley. The route heads out of the valley towards the Kaltenbrunn pilgrimage church, branching off to the right shortly before reaching it. The road winds its way uphill in six hairpin bends, passing the Wiesenhof and winding through vast, green meadows. The route continues along a forest track into the municipality of Kaunerberg. From Oberfalpetan, follow the signposts through the small hamlet until you reach the municipality of Kauns. Here, another forest track begins, leading through the woods to the Kaltenbrunn pilgrimage church and then back to the starting point.
