100 years of the Anton Renk Hut. Look forward to a special anniversary week featuring fantastic mountain hikes, cosy evenings at the hut and exciting film screenings at Sigmundsried Castle.
In the summer of 2026, the Anton Renk Hut celebrates its 100th anniversary. To mark this special occasion, the Aachen Section of the German Alpine Club (DAV) warmly invites you to a festive anniversary week in Ried im Oberinntal and around the hut.The celebrations begin on Sunday, 26 July 2026, with a Summer Festival starting at 6:00 pm at Lindenplatz in Ried im Oberinntal. The Anniversary Week then continues from 27 July to 2 August 2026, featuring guided hikes, summit tours, and a varied supporting programme.

Hike to the Hohenzollernhaus

From Ried, we travel by carpool to the upper parking area in the Radurschl Valley. From there, a pleasant summer trail leads through a magnificent Swiss stone pine forest to the Hohenzollernhaus, owned by the Starnberg Section of the German Alpine Club.
The route to the hut follows an easy mountain hiking trail and is ideal for leisurely hikers. Those wishing to continue can hike further towards the head of the valley or, depending on weather conditions and fitness level, ascend Wildnörderer (3,013 m).
Guided Tour of Altfinstermünz Fortress

Experience a fascinating guided tour through the historic Altfinstermünz Fortress, a former border fortification located along the ancient Roman road Via Claudia Augusta.
Situated in the Inn Gorge between Pfunds and Nauders, this impressive customs and border station served travellers for centuries before being carefully restored as a unique historical attraction. Today, visitors can gain remarkable insights into medieval life and the history of this important crossing.
Getting There
- By bus to Kajetansbrücke, followed by an approximately 4 km walk.
- By car to Hochfinstermünz, followed by a 15-minute walk downhill.
- Alternatively, by bicycle via the Inn Cycle Path.
Botanical Hike through the Radurschl Gorge

The picturesque Radurschl Gorge is one of the region's most beautiful natural attractions. During this guided walk, participants will discover the rich variety of alpine plants while learning fascinating facts about the local flora. This enjoyable hike is also well suited for families with children. Getting There: By bus or car to Pfunds.
Visit to the Historic Platzertal Mine

Together with Elisabeth Sturm from the Platzertal Mine Association, we visit the highest historic mine in the Alps.
Between 1539 and 1910, ore was extracted here at an altitude of around 2,500 metres. Today, the carefully restored mining facilities have been transformed into a museum offering fascinating insights into alpine mining history.
A minibus transports participants from Ried to Tscheylücke above Greit (1,587 m). From there, an approximately four-hour hike leads through the beautiful Pfundser Tschey Valley to Platzer Alm (2,181 m) and onward to the mine at 2,500 metres above sea level.
Alternatively, the mine can also be reached by mountain bike.
Start time and meeting point will be announced.

Special film screenings organised by the German Alpine Club will take place on the first floor of Sigmundsried Castle.
