Spiss, on the sunny slopes of the Samnauntal valley at 1,627 m above sea-level, is Austria’s highest community and the smallest village in the Tyrolean Oberland. The relaxed scattered settlement halfway to the customs haven of Samnaun is home to just under 130 people, and is particularly valued by holidaymakers for its friendly atmosphere. Hikes and bike tours on the surrounding Alpine pastures, a visit to the chic Baroque Expositurkirche or the large natural play area promise complete relaxation.
