The only castle concerned with the protection of the Southern border of Tirol of
Old-Austria which has been completely preserved. The castle was built in
1840. In the front of the castle visitors can see the barracks with their bunkers in
the mountain. This is where the Niklas defence wall, dating back to the early Middle
Ages, was built. Remainings can still be seen.
