In 1285, a knight built a chapel at the location of today´s´ pilgrimage church.
In 1511, Kaltenbrunn in the Kaunertal valley became the place of pilgrimage of
lansquenets from Tirol to Flanders. In the course of the centuries the church
dilapidated. After extensive renovation works the "UNSERER LIEBEN FRAU ZU KALTENBRUNN" pilgrimage church reopened in June 1982.
