The village of Prutz played an important role in the Tirolean Independence wars in 1809. In 1703 and 1809 the first Tirolean rebellion between Bavaria and France against foreign oppression took place on this bridge. The bronze eagle on the bridge was constructed in 1904 and reminds us of the past events.
