Welcome to Imst, the center of the Imst-Gurgltal region!
Imst - a neat town nestling on a sunny slope - offers its visitors numerous attractions. For example the exceptionally beautiful Rosengartenschlucht gorge set in the town center. Or the Alpine Coaster, the longest rollercoaster in the Alps which meanders from the Hoch-Imst ski area down through lush meadows. In Imst the idea of the SOS children´s village was born and the first SOS children´s village was built here too.
Hikers and bikers love the area surrounding Imst as there are numerous routes for tours through the Lechtal Alps.
Furthermore myriad cultural events take place in Imst every year. E.g. Imst Schemenlaufen, one of the most impressive carnival customs in the Alps, or open-air concerts on the town square, and much more.
