 A dream of springtime
Optical highlight of a Mostviertel visit is the time of the pear-blossom at the end of April/beginning of May, when a white and fine as gossamer veil covers the country.



A hiker´s paradise!
With its natural miracles, sights and interesting offers the Mostviertel is setting the mood for hiking.





 Ötscherland Express
This nostaligic narrow gage train gets over 310 meters of altitude and wriggles through dense woods, deep rock notches and over the filigree Trestlework-bridges until you will reach the charming village Lunz am See aver one hour´s ride.



 Mostviertel - A small paradise for bike-hikers

Sightseeing by bicycle is one of the most liked disciplines at Mostviertel. Starting from the flat Danube valley, 550 km of well signed biking trails lead through the magnificent hilly landscape: to abbely, cloisters, churches and picturesque villages. Snacks and food is available at numerous country inns, cosy wine taverns and directly at the farmer´s, living on typical 4-edged farmhouses.







When the load of snow sags the trees, covering all green and change entire parts of the region in whitewashed winter wonderlands, then it´s time for a long walk or for a romantic coach ride to cautiosely explore this frosty magic worlds.



 Lake Erlauf

The element water it its most roughish form characterizes large parts of the Mostviertel. Small, hidden mountain sources, wild waterfalls, long-streched bank landscapes along numerous rivers as well as refreshing, wild-romantic mountain lakes.
