Those were the most important ore deposits in the Landeck region. The ore was minded at altitudes between 2500 and 3000 meters above sea level. Today the ruins of the mines are protected.
This bridge used to be part of a narrow road to Serfaus. It might have been a part of the famous Roman road, Via Claudia Augusta, which lead from Tschupbach to the high plateau of Serfaus, Fiss, and Ladis via St. Georgen, and then back down to Pontlatz.
