Kaunertal Glacier - A highlight throughout the seasons
Winter sports fans can enjoy perfect snow conditions until late spring while nature explorers find a great variety of highlights amid the eternal ice.
Special tip: at some 300 meters from the glacier restaurant there is a new, secured theme path to a giant glacier crevasse. Feel the fascinating power of the eternal ice close-by!
The Kaunertal Center offers an indoor pool, saunas, sun beds, steam baths, a bowling alley, a gym, tennis courts, asphalt curling lanes, and a restaurant. Open daily 2.00 pm - 10.00 pm.
Perfect rest and recreation are guaranteed thanks to a varied holiday program for young and old, for sports lovers and those who prefer a more leisurely pace. Walking and hiking fans can choose from 250 km of signposted trails and routes amid the crisp and clean mountain air. The valley is surrounded by countless peaks beyond 300 meters, belonging to the Ötztal Alps.
Festivals deeply rooted in history, cattle parades and plenty of other genuine Tirolean customs have still been preserved at the heart of the Alps. We would like to invite our guests to take a closer look at everyday life in our valley, by performing folklore evenings, slide shows, theater performances. With a bit of luck you can also watch red deer and ibex in the surrounding woods!
The breathtaking Kaunertal Glacier Road ranks among the highlights in the Alpine region. Starting in the scenic village of Feichten at 1287m above sea level, the panoramic road takes you up to 2750m - on a total length of 26 km, featuring 29 turns and some 1500m of difference in altitude. The climate is similar to North European regions and you can reach this awe-inspiring region within a few minutes by car.
